Dear AR Kaufman Families,

This is a quick note to let you know that Mr. S. Finn, our Vice-Principal has accepted a position as Vice-Principal at Breslau Public School, Cambridge, effective Wednesday, February 1, 2018.  Ms. H. Mannhardt, a Technology Support Teacher with WRDSB, has been appointed as Vice-Principal of AR Kaufman Public School, also effective February 1, 2018.

After teaching in the Peel District School Board for over a dozen years, Mr. Finn was appointed Vice-Principal at AR Kaufman, his first step into the role.  Mr. Finn has worked very hard to improve the school and support everyone in the ARK community in a variety of ways over the past two years. In this role, he got to know all the students, families and staff. As you all know, Mr. Finn is a consummate professional, who competently handled the many demands of his job. He has mentored many new staff and welcomed students and families to the community. In short, he has been an invaluable member of our school and will be dearly missed by everyone, especially at assemblies. When asked about his time at ARK, he reflected, “I could not have asked for a more positive experience for my initiation into the administrator position.  It has been an absolute pleasure serving the parents and children of this community over the last two years as the Vice-Principal of AR Kaufman Public School.  I will sincerely miss all of the wonderful students I have grown to know, as well as the amazing staff with whom it has been a privilege to support and work with.  I wish you all the best as you continue your educational journeys, and look forward to my new experience as the Vice-Principal at Breslau Public School.”

Ms. H. Mannhardt, is excited to join the AR Kaufman community after 13+ years of teaching and learning in the Waterloo Region. In her role as the Technology Support Teacher, she supported teachers and students to collaborate and communicate their learning using ipads, chromebooks and many online tools in our 103 elementary schools. Ms. Mannhardt is excited about coming to ARK, “I am enthusiastic to support learning across our community. I love engaging with people and you will likely find me in the hallways, school yard and classrooms looking to chat about learning, living and laughing. I enjoy hiking, running, and being active. I have three children, two boys and a girl, who are some of my greatest teachers of patience, compassion and life! Professionally I ask: What is best for our learning community? What is best for our learners? What do you want to achieve, accomplish or create, and how can I help you? Please connect with me.
